|
By
Ky Capel - Dorset Echo
Weymouth Doonan Wildcats’ team manager
Jem Dicken was gracious in defeat as
the Plymouth Devils took home the Devon
& Dorset Cup with a comfortable 42-point
aggregate lead. After watching his Wildcats
go down 49-39 at the Wessex Stadium
on Saturday night, Dicken said: “We
were beaten by the better team on both
legs. We were a bit rusty and had some
mechanical gremlins but that’s what
these early season challenges are all
about. “I’m confident we’ll click and
I’m not feeling downhearted. We would
have liked to have won but you can’t
win everything. I was very pleased with
Tim Webster though, he’s doing more
than is expected of him.”

|
By
Graham Hambly - Dorset Echo
Weymouth face an uphill task in the
Devon and Dorset Trophy following their
61-29 defeat at Plymouth on Friday evening.
It leaves them with a massive deficit
to turn around in the deciding leg at
the Wessex Stadium this evening (Saturday,
7.15pm). Team manager Jem Dicken admitted:
"We did not do anywhere near as well
as we thought we would. We suffered
from a few gremlins, but we were beaten
by a better side. Plymouth is a hard
place to come for a visiting team.".
