Chairman Phil Bartlett has set his sights on taking the Weymouth Doonan Wildcats into the Premier League next season. He announced his intentions at the speedway team's Season Launch at the Wessex Stadium on Saturday where the club's new set of riders were introduced to a large contingent of supporters.

Weymouth Doonan Wildcats' chairman Phil Bartlett has called upon local businesses to help the club's impressive 2008 line-up fulfil their potential. Bartlett has pulled off some major coups this winter, landing the Mighty Midget' Jon Armstrong, former Stoke star Luke Priest and Aussie ace Jay Herne, all of whom are expected to catapult the side into this season's front-runners in the Conference League. However, more sponsorship is needed if the team is to be given the best chance possible of lifting the title.
